Key Members

Nominations for the next three-year term of the Ford & Fordson Association
Both FFA Secretary Rob Rushen-Smith and the Editor of Ford & Fordson Tractors magazine Peter D. Simpson will remain as permanent members of the 'Ford & Fordson Association'. Together they are committed to the future development and expansion of the 'FFA' and will continue, with the rest of the committee to attend various shows, rallies and venues around the UK and the ROI to promote the 'FFA' for the benefit of all 'FFA' members.
The Treasurer and Membership Secretary for the FFA both hold responsible positions within Kelsey Publishing, which is the FFA sponsor. These two permanent committee members hold sleeping positions within the FFA.

Peter Godwin
Current Vice Chairman
Standing for election as Chairman.
Peter GodwinPeter is an arable farmer based in North Oxfordshire, and has built up an impressive collection of around 20 Ford and Fordson tractors and the derivatives from 1933 to the mid-70s.

"I have both a strong working knowledge and historical interest in all Ford-based machines," says Peter. "As current Vice Chairman of the 'FFA' I hope I have contributed to the tremendous success of the club since its foundation and have helped our present Chairman and Committee through our first three-year period. One of my main roles to date has been to organise the FFA section at the Royal Show over the past years as well as assisting with our annual EXPO. At present I am trying to work with area representatives to establish working days and hopefully an FFA Ploughing Challenge."

As possible future Chairman Peter feels he can continue his good work with a particular emphasis to advise and help the regional organisers with their local FFA activities as well as the national show programme. It is Peter's aim to allow every FFA member to become involved with the Association whether at national or local level and to enjoy the FFA for many years to come.

Nick Battelle
Current FFA President
Standing for re-election as FFA President.
Nick BattelleThe names of Nick and Arthur Battelle have been associated with Ford and Fordson tractors for many years. Nick's father, Arthur, worked for Ford as a worldwide tractor demonstrator, then with Roadless Traction before setting up his own business building the Fordbased FTD Chieftain tractor. Nick was an important part of those years learning his trade before he and his wife Michelle formed the Old 20 Parts Company.

"I was asked by our Chairman Peter Love if I would be the founder member and first man on the FFA Committee as President. This role I have thoroughly enjoyed and as I have travelled the country entertaining tractor groups with my archive films I have been amazed at the response to our Association.

"I hope you feel me worthy to be re-elected as President of the FFA and I will continue to offer my support to all FFA members and area representatives and continue to promote all that is good of the Ford and Fordson marque, a name with such great heritage that deserves preserving forever through the Ford & Fordson Association."

Peter Andrews
Current FFA Technical Officer and FFA Derbyshire Area Representative
Peter Andrews"I am a self-employed agricultural mechanic and have been working on Fordson and Ford tractors along with the derivatives for as long as I care to remember. I have been a committee member and the Derbyshire Area Representative for the Ford & Fordson Association for the past two years. I have also undertaken the role of Technical Officer/Advisor for the FFA and assisted with technical matters for the FFA official magazine Ford & Fordson Tractors."

Peter has been helping and advising members with their various tractor problems both via the phone and at shows, rallies and events across the UK. He has also been a strong supporter of the annual FFA Expo and assisted on the FFA stand at events throughout the year.

Peter plans to continue his role as the FFA Area Representative for Derbyshire. Therefore he would like to put himself forward for a further three-year term as Committee Member/Technical Officer for the FFA and play a key role in the future development and growth of the Ford & Fordson Association.

David Caley
Current Committee Member
Standing for election as Vice-Chairman.
David Caley"I work as a sales manager for an agricultural machinery manufacturer, and, having spent my early adult life with a hobby interest in motor-sport, around twenty years ago my interest in tractors was rekindled. I was born into an agricultural engineering family based in East Yorkshire, and grew up close to Fordson Major and Dexta tractors. My father held the agencies for Whitlock diggers and Allen land drainage trenchers, both of which were Ford and Fordson based."

David intends to stand for re-election on to the committee of the Ford and Fordson Association, and further confirms his intention to stand for election to the office of Vice Chairman of the Association. With the experience gained during the last three years (and since the formation of the association) as a general committee member, David would be able to support adequately the Chairman in his/her role, and to act in his/her place should he/she be unable to be in attendance at a formal event or gathering. Furthermore, whether elected as Vice Chairman or not, it is David's intention to work to continue the tremendous progress and success that the FFA has had during its formative three years under the dynamic, strong and successful leadership of Peter Love.

Rodney Gibson
Current Committee Member
"Born in Walderslade Kent, one of three children, I lived nextdoor to a farm that ran Fordsons. I was brought up in a church going family and met my wife, Wendy through the church youth club. We have now been married for 40 years and have two children and three grandchildren."

Rodney started work at 15 years of age for a Ford main dealer (Brook Garage) and served a five-year apprenticeship working on tractors, trucks and cars. He left and worked for around one year for another agricultural dealer. When it closed he started his own business repairing lorries and tractors. Rodney moved into the premises in 1974 where he worked for the next 33 years. Eventually he decided to scale down the business and moved to a house which has four acres of land.

"At present I have 20 tractors, two are fully restored, the KFD 68 and the 1962 narrow Dexta - the rest still with their working clothes on. For 20 years I have been a member of the NVTEC Kent Group. I joined the FFA three years ago with the hope that some of my knowledge could be passed on to fellow enthusiasts and to help get the Ford movement up and running."

Margaret and Derek Badham
FFA Shropshire Area Representative
Nomination for the FFA committee as a partnership.
Margaret and Derek Badham"Both myself and my husband Derek would like to put ourselves forward as a partnership to be elected on to the FFA Committee. Together we have gathered a varied collection of early Fordson tractors taking them around the country to various shows and rallies where we generate a lot of interest amongst Fordson tractor enthusiasts. We have been members of the FFA since its birth and have supported the Association to the best of our ability. Last year we became area representatives for the FFA in our home county of Shropshire and we will continue in this role.

"Together we have assisted on many of the FFA stands around the country and we ran the FFA stand at this year's Great Dorset Steam Fair. If we are elected on to the FFA Committee as a team, we will continue to help organise and run the FFA stand at shows around the country and encourage and help the FFA to become the largest tractor club of our time. As a partnership we are dedicated to the FFA and we feel we can bring a lot to the Association over the next three years."
